GIA Fall Institute is a conference in celebration of our mission to aid in the formation of fine musicians.

The conference will offer an assortment of skill building and enrichment workshops on subjects like choral rehearsal techniques, conducting, pastoral music, leadership, liturgy, theology, organ, piano, and spirituality. There will also be plenum addresses, ecumenical prayer opportunities celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, along with sacred and secular choral reading sessions.

Renew My Church - A View from the Bench

We are pleased to once again offer our event, Renew My Church - A View From the Bench. Our own NPM Chicago Board Member, Michael Ward, will speak about some of the challenges and exciting possibilities that impact music ministries during parish mergers and consolidations based on his experiences at the newly merged St. Norbert and Our Lady of the Brook Parish in Northbrook, IL. Wendy Silhavy, Senior Coordinator for Liturgy and Music at the Office for Divine Worship and NPM Chicago Board Member, will also be with us to help share some insights and perspective from the Archdiocesan level. Bring your concerns, thoughts, ideas, and questions as we will have time to share and discuss following Michael's talk. We look forward to seeing you there!

Taizé Prayer

Every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. in Madonna della Strada Chapel on the Loyola Campus during the fall and spring semesters.

Taizé Prayer is filled with song, scripture and silent meditation. It is based on the Liturgy of the Hours evening prayer and is modeled on the style as practiced in the Taizé Community in France. The sanctuary is candlelit the music is repetitive and chant-like. Those who attend regularly find a profound peace and tranquility in this style of prayer.
